Pinoy Inmates on YouTube!
A video of Filipino prisoners dancing to hits like Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” in bright orange uniforms has become an instant worldwide hit on the video sharing website YouTube.
The video was shot in Cebu provincial jail showing over a thousand inmates dancing in a routine. It has attracted 2.1 million viewers so far.
The dancing, held twice daily in jail, was an idea of security consultant Byron Garcia and was the one who put the video on YouTube. He said this started sometime last year, when he noticed very few of the prisoners were taking part in the calisthenics and push-ups that the jail was offering for their exercise.
There are also "Radio Gaga" and "I Will Follow Him" versions of the video.
